ERCOT Predicts Winter Power Grid and Anheuser-Busch Will Convert to CNG
Officials of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas or ERCOT, the agency that manages most of the Texas power grid said they expect to have sufficient electricity to meet peak demand during the upcoming fall and winter seasons.
The announcement by the agency follows last winter where ERCOT urged Texans to restrict their electricity use and came just shy of ordering the rolling blackouts. Read More
Anheuser-Busch announced on Thursday that it will be replacing its 66 diesel trucks in Houston to compressed natural gas (CNG). Houston will be the first location where the Budweiser brewer will run an entire brewery fleet on CNG.
The CNG conversion, which is calculated to remove approximately 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually, will help the company achieve its goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. By 2017, Anheuser-Busch plans to reduce their carbon emissions in transportation, network planning, and warehousing by 15 percent. Read More
