We’ve seen prices drop from $100 to $80 per barrel. The Houston Chronical says, “Most drilling in the Eagle Ford remains profitable at $80 per barrel; the economics at $70 are trickier and vary widely depending on the shale play and operators’ financial positions.
Smaller operators with more lopsided balance sheets face more uncertainty and tougher decisions: “Continue drilling and let their balance sheets suffer or pump the brakes and watch production growth fall.”
