We kick things off by talking spring turkey with Field & Stream contributor and Realtree Turkey Editor – Steve Hickoff. He tells us how to break down a weary old gobbler that just won’t come into shotgun range.
Then 2014 Elite Series Angler of the Year and perhaps the greatest jig fisherman on the planet makes his return when Louisiana native Greg Hackney jumps on. We discuss when, where and how to fish a jig. Plus, were giving away a $300 Garmin Fish Finder during the interview!
We then discuss a brand new rifle Mossberg Firearms released in 2016 when Mossberg’s Linda Powell jumps on with us. We discuss the new MMR Carbine rifle and also get into some spring bear hunting discussion. Don’t forget that we are giving away the MMR Carbine .223 to our April Photo Of the Month Contest winner as well!
We wrap things up by hitting the friendly saltwater bays of the Texas coast with longtime guide- Captain Len Girard. Trout, Redfish, Flounder and much more! Captain Len tells us where to find them and what they are biting.
Tropical Storm Bill Nears Landfall; Major Flood Threat For Texas, Oklahoma, Ozarks (FORECAST)
Tropical Storm Bill will make landfall this morning on the Texas coast between Houston and Corpus Christi.
Tropical storm warnings are in effect from Baffin Bay to High Island, Texas.
The main impact from Bill is expected to be torrential rain and additional flash flooding/river flooding for parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.
The combination of a storm surge and the tide may cause normally dry areas near the coast to be flooded. This includes areas along the Upper Texas coast where water at high tide may reach 2 to 4 feet above ground. In southwest Louisiana, inundation could reach 1 to 2 feet.
Coastal flooding has already been reported along parts of the Upper Texas coast.
Gusty winds to tropical storm-force, rip currents and isolated tornadoes are also threats.
Check out my buddy, Dr. Matt’s YouTube Channels. He is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and has one YouTube Channel, Vet Ranch, that is devoted to saving animals lives and another completely differently channel, Demolition Ranch, that is more about fun, guns and blowing stuff up.
Vet Ranch may not be for the squeamish, since he show animals in various stages of injury, abuse and discomfort, while Demotion Ranch may not be for anti-gunners. I think both channels are awesome, but for different reasons.
