We don’t have a photo, but, we were expecting the only acrobatics to come from legendary musician Roy Head. However, Sean sang his songs and did a handstand on stage. I thought he looked he was going to fall over and kick the teeth out of the bass player, though. 🙂

The competition to see which company can claim the “TOP GUN” title is scheduled for Thursday Sep. 18, as the kickoff event for the 22ndannual Lonesome Dove Fest that will be held Friday and Saturday, Sep. 19 -20.

This year’s shootout will offer an exciting format, with each five-member team competing on a 60-target sporting clay course on the grounds of the Karnes County Youth Show Barn.

The event will test the wing-shooting skills of participants and promises to be as fast and fun as an afternoon in a dove field. Cold drinks (non-alcoholic) and snacks will be provided along the 60-target course.

To make things a bit more interesting we are planning to offer a jackpot option that can be entered as either an individual or team. Not only will the winners have a chance at picking up some extra cash, they will also be able to earn the respect and admiration of their fellow Black Gold competitors. In addition, we will be conducting some other interesting shooter games.

Bring along your tight chokes, heavy dove loads and a keen eye!

After the shooting is completed, ice cold beer and snacks will be available in our tent where competitors can swap tall tales and compare scores before prizes and a wards are presented.

We look forward to having you join us for some fun and to help raise funds for our local community.
