Hot Weather Advisory
With temperatures over the 100 degree mark, the Frio Regional Hospital recommends to avoid dehydration and heat related illnesses, especially among the vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and young children.
Drink plenty of non-alcoholic and caffeine-free liquids, such as water and juice. Check on those at high risk. If working outdoors rest frequently in shady areas; do not leave infants, children, the elderly or pets unattended in a parked car or other hot environment.
If you feel any symptoms of heat illness such as dizziness, nausea, muscle cramps or headache, immediately stop all activity and move to a cooler area to rest and drink fluids. If symptoms do not improve, medical attention should be sought immediately.
